Brass care
One of the reasons we love brass? Over time, it deepens in character, aging gracefully and telling its own story - just like us humans as we move through life accumulating experience.
To kick-start things, we carefully give most of our brass pieces an initial signature patina as part of our Verdigrain™ process, sealing it with our specialised beeswax balm to slow the aging process. But nature will do its thing, and we can’t offer a warranty against further changes in patina.
Want to keep your brass looking as fresh as the day you unboxed it? Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals—they’ll strip away the patina and could damage the surface.
Follow these simple steps:
- Clean
Use a soft cloth with warm, soapy water to remove dirt, grime, or oxidation. - Rinse
Wipe off any soap residue with a clean, damp cloth and let the brass dry completely. - Wax
Apply a small amount of our beeswax balm using a soft cloth. Work in thin, even layers, carefully avoiding non-brass parts. - Set
Allow the wax to dry as directed (no rushing—this step is key for the wax to bond with the brass). - Buff
Once dry, buff the brass in circular motions with a clean cloth to bring out the shine.
For a richer finish or extra protection, repeat the waxing process, allowing proper drying and buffing between coats.
If your brass lives outdoors, the wax will naturally wear down over time. To keep it looking its best, give it a periodic clean and reapply beeswax balm as needed.
Simple care for a lifetime of beautiful brass.
